Happy international workers' day to everyone. Trade unions were illegal only 200 years ago in the UK - we've come a long way since then. Whatever the government, we must continue to fight for workers' rights.

Doctors will not continue to pay for Labour's austerity programme. Doctors start only on 17Β£/hr with 100k of debt, while delivering life saving treatment. If we do not value doctors, we will continue to lose them. Get organised, get involved, get ballot ready.

Doctors have been here before Pay, conditions, value, all being stripped away With a wage of Β£17ph, our govt isn’t fighting for us, so we have to ourselves Get ballot ready Join the BMA: Join.bma.org.uk Update your details Myaccount.bma.org.uk #BMABallotReady

Pay restoration is a PCS demand as well. Plus national pay and pay progression. Of course without a campaign these demands remain dead words. In the next few weeks we have our national conference. There we will decide what to do.

This working class woman, after 40 years in the Labour Party, was disciplined & banned by them from standing for County Council. Because she spoke out about the Winter Fuel Allowance. She resigned. Today she took the seat from the Labour Group Leader ✊

1/6 🧡The political establishment is collapsing. The election results showing huge swings away from both the tories and Labour shows just how much trust has been lost.

Doctors have experienced 22% pay erosion since 2008. They work in the NHS on Β£17/hr. They are asking to go to Β£22/hr. Yet Wes Streeting wants doctors to sit quietly and take further pay cuts. Not on our watch.

‼️ CONFIRMED | Keir Starmer suffered worst defeat of any new PM on record, losing 65% of Labour's seats. In 1977, just two years before being evicted from power, Labour lost 48% of the council seats it was defending. Starmer just lost a whopping **65%** 😱😱

We need a new left political party now. A party that stands unflinching against racism, austerity and the politics of cruelty and division and doesn’t cheer for war but peace. A party that refuses to be bought, bullied, or silenced. The left must get organised now. My latest πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

I was the Secretary of Liverpool Walton CLP a few years ago, the constituency where Dan is MP, so I write this with some regret, but I wholly reject the content of this article. 🧡

The previous doctors' pay review body report clearly stated "delays (to pay awards) were disrespectful to the NHS workforce." So why is @Wesstreeting purposely withholding doctors' wages? Why is @Wesstreeting being intentionally disrespectful to the NHS workforce?

No meaningful dialogue. No progress. The only disappointing one here is Wes Streeting. He is: - Deliberately withholding the doctors’ pay review body recommendation - Refusing to engage in meaningful talks with The BMA - Failing to commit to reversing the 22% real-terms pay cut

There is nothing but struggle ahead - just to keep their heads above water doctors are forced to take strike action. It’s a scandal that resident doctors have effectively had their pay cut since 2008 as well as their workload increase. Solidarity to Resident Doctors - Merseyside
