Sad that TVO.me statement is only about appeasing Ukrainian Canadians sensitivities rather than acknowledging that funding Trofimova was ethically and legally wrong.

What a very late and pathetic statement defending "art". TIFF claims the film was made without the "knowledge of any Russian government agencies". Trofimova says she got permission from the brigade commander, but I guess the 🇷🇺 army doesn't count.

I thought TIFF was simply naive and ignorant, but their statement is arrogant and morally vacuous.
