We have found maladministration in European Commission handling of access to docs request related to the preparation of a meeting between its President and the Tunisian President. None of the documents provided covered internal exchanges or exchanges with Member States.

In a case filed by my office, the European Ombudsman concludes today that European Commission 🇪🇺's refusal to disclose documents linked to the EU-Tunisia deal amounts to maladministration. Further, the Ombudsman regrets the lack of a sense of urgency, as the request was pending for 12 months.
