We host monthly (ish) political education sessions for our members and friends on topics relevant to our work. We decide as a group on topics and readings, and then we get together and discuss. We’ll post the readings and discussion questions so you can read and think with us!

We also center harm reduction in our work, including through offering Narcan and individual first aid kit (IFAK) trainings to help people recognize and respond to opioid overdoses in their and prepare folks to “stop the bleed” when responding to gun violence.

Another pop-up distro complete. Folks are scattered, but we saw a few of our friends at two encampments- which will also be both cleared in the next two weeks. Some of our people have been cleared 3 times in the last two weeks.

Last week we were able to pay down half of an elderly disabled woman’s outstanding debt to her landlord. Her imminent eviction was canceled & she will remain housed! To everyone that shares & donates to our work — thank you! You made this happen!

Trump & Mayor Bowser’s escalation of targeting unhoused camps continues tomorrow with yet another eviction, this time about 12 folks living near Union Station. People are moving to other camps scheduled for eviction cause there’s no where else to go. Housing ends homelessness!
