Today is the Feast of Reverend Florence Li Tim-Oi, the 1st woman priest in the Anglican Communion, who died on this day in 1992. Her feast day is celebrated by both Episcopal Church (United States) & Anglican Church of Canada. Let's celebrate in The Church of England too, please share
We were joined by the Exec Director of the Li Tim-Oi Foundation Christina Rees at our online meet-up of Chinese-heritage clergy in The Church of England. A wonderful evening of catching up and encouraging one-another. AMEN
Today's service for Lunar New Year comes from The Teahouse network of Chinese-heritage clergy and is led by Rev Mark Nam. This service has BSL interpretation in-vision and has been manually subtitled. Watch now at cofe.io/LunarNewYearSe…. The Teahouse 茶
I spoke today General Synod about inadequate theological education on Racial Justice in The Church of England. I’m grateful for the contributions and trust from the UKME ordinands and curates who gave me a broader and crucial perspective on this issue.
Given General Synod’s commitment to Racial Justice, would The Church of England grant Florence Li Tim-Oi a feast day to increase representation of Chinese-heritage Anglicans in The Church—as is already done in America and Canada, every 26 Feb (today!) Petition here bit.ly/Li-Tim-Oi-Peti…
What does it mean to be a liberation theologian? It means recognizing that God is not about power but about love. That justice is a universal call from Jeremiah and from Micah and from Jesus. That we are called not to blind faith, but to sighted witness. BaylorProud Orbis Books
Another day another brilliant lecture on Black Theology by Professor @AnthonyGReddie at University of Oxford
Couldn’t have done this without the support from The Teahouse 茶!! 🤗
Had a bit of a fangirl moment today. Esau McCaulley book Reading While Black is one of my all-time favourites and when I found out he was launching his book at college, I had to be there! Check out his latest book, How Far to the Promised Land 🙌
Lovely photo captured by London Diocese from last week's gathering of 150+ GMH and UKME clergy and ordinands at a provincial gathering at Church House. A real joy catching up with my good friend Revd. Amy Tan a founding member of The Teahouse 茶 & curate in the The Church of England Birmingham
