I'm learning that alignment amongst teams and individuals is more elusive than I usually think it will be. It always takes more time and effort to get people on the same page then I imagine it will.

I wish bacon processors would consider the stress that is put on my marriage when they put an uneven amount of bacon in a package.

I can imagine no other president in my lifetime failing to address the nation in a prime time speech during a crisis such as this. On the other hand, I cannot imagine another president whose words would be less welcome by so many of his fellow citizens.

Everyone is faster at hanging up VC than I am.

My neighbor hit my truck today while it was parked in my driveway. I spent most of the interaction consoling him.

Netflix is only scheduling critical meetings in August. Having fewer meetings is more healing to me than any vacation since COVID started. I feel productive every day. Work has become exciting again. Once again it's clear to me that the answer to burnout isn't just time off.

Note to self as much as anyone else: If we all just started with the problem we are trying to solve, that would make conversations more clear a lot faster.

I should probably eat something before I yell at someone about something that doesn't matter.

No one ever comments about the time I DO remember to turn the lights off.

I have so many meetings that I tend to lose my voice by the end of the day. This doesn't seem great.

At this point, is it viewed as strange to avoid risky things to try and avoid getting covid? I'm starting to feel a little judged for wanting to ride this whole pandemic thing out in the safest way possible.

Netflix had only critical meetings last month. Returning to back to back meetings makes me realize the difficulty in processing each meeting with few breaks between them. The lack of processing leads to compounding lack of focus affecting the value of each meeting.

PSA: It's only Tuesday.

I hope someday I can cough in my house without my wife asking if I have COVID.
