Yes, rockets can fly in a vacuum. If you believe guns exist and have recoil, which Americans overwhelmingly do, you can believe that rockets can fly in space. This has been coming up in my comments a lot lately so decided to make an ever so slightly sassy, bite-sized

For some reason a deep space EVA (or transEarth EVA if you want to be specific) freaks me out more than just being in the spacecraft on the way home. But I've always been a little obsessed with the pics and footage from these events. I even have a pic from Al Worden's on Apollo

You can't see stars on the Moon... but that doesn't meant they aren't there! We've done this before but I guess we're doing it again.

It's such a good shot of ullage motors I had to talk about them. Also the space for gas and expansion in the tank is called ullage... hence ullage motors. I'm saying this now so no one has to explain that to me in a reply!

People bring up the shot of Apollo 17 leaving the moon as clear proof it was in a soundstage, so let me explain how it wasn't. Again.

People forget when they look at "questionable" footage of the Moon landing that that the Moon is not the Earth! So let's talk about that lack of blast craters. Again.

Just another fun one today: playing around on Skylab! I just keep finding little clips I like as I sort through my video files and like sharing them!

Another from the fun files! This was the era where there was, obviously, no 3D modeling. You had an idea, you did the math to design it, then you built a tiny one and flew it to see how it'd work. Just love old videos like this so wanted to share!

NASA's Ranger 7 A Camera pictures put together to show the first time we crashed into the Moon. Another from the "this is super cool and I wanted to share it" files!

I feel like if it was faked the astronauts wouldn't so obviously fall down? Also why on Earth would the Soviet Union not use the faked landing to discredit American greatness. Conspiracy theorists out here thinking they've seen something Soviet intelligence experts missed!

Just a reminder that you don't need an Apollo-level program to do some amazing and inspiring science. Funding space science research is good.

After a super nerdy friend of mine was excited to learn Apollo 10's spacecraft were named Snoopy and Charlie Brown, I thought it'd be fun to tell the story!
