Ohio’s economy is struggling because Washington is looking out for the ultra wealthy instead of workers. Unemployment is the highest it’s been in years and workers are seeing benefits slashed. Washington doesn’t get it: If it doesn’t work for Ohio families, it’s not working.

Cisco Systems gets $720 million bonanza from US taxpayers bc 2017 Trump tax law had a drafting error. Don’t get me wrong, whole point of both Trump tax laws was tax cuts to rich ppl & corporations, but this particular one was just an error. Whoops. itep.org/billion-dollar…

I generally think people are underreacting to the fact that Argentina embraced libertarian Muskonomics and it took not even two years for it to so thoroughly destroy the economy that we’re forced to personally bail the country out (because Milei bought Musk a chainsaw).

We have people in power making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproven. The degree to which those comments can undermine public health, do harm to women who are pregnant, create anxiety for parents who do have children who are autistic –

Vaccines are one of the great public health success stories. They’ve saved millions of lives around the world. We cannot allow conspiracy theorists to undermine proven science.

This is a remarkable statistic: 18.7 million out of the 24.3 million Obamacare enrollees are in states won by President Trump in 2024.

The government gives tax breaks to the wealthy for buying private jets. But health care tax credits that support millions of middle- and low-income Americans get cut. Yet another example that shows we have two tax codes, one for the rich and one for everyone else.

Lots of reporting on SNAP getting the details wrong. SNAP is not set to run out of money on November 1. There’s money in the contingency fund to pay benefits. The Trump admin is illegally refusing to deliver benefits on November 1, despite having funding to pay benefits.

Private planes make up nearly 12% of all flights. And yet even with major air traffic control safety concerns, the DOT is planning to exclude them from its plan to order 10% cut in flights. People who can afford to charter flights will be fine. Everyone else is screwed.
