🗳️ The 2024 House of Commons private members’ ballot bill has been drawn. These MPs, especially those in the top 7, have a golden opportunity to progress the #CANBill in this crucial parliamentary session. Will you help us—today—by asking these MPs to choose the CAN Bill?

MEFT's decision to cull 640 antelope in national parks and 83 elephants outside parks (total 723 animals) is a reasonable decision in terms of wildlife management and drought relief. conservationnamibia.com/blog/namibia-a…

I have long been suspicious of the claim that Indigenous Peoples' lands support 80% of biodiversity. A new paper debunks this. IP lands are important for biodiversity - but this stat isn't substantiated. nature.com/articles/d4158…

Hello, I'd like to invite you to do my laundry for me. If you accept, I ask that you do my laundry in the next 7 business days. If you decline, please give a reason, and recommend 2-3 colleagues who can do my laundry instead. No, of course there's no payment, what a crazy idea

What is the scale of the global wild bird trade? New paper led by BirdLife is the first attempt to quantify and map the relative prevalence in trade of all bird species globally: dx.doi.org/10.1111/cobi...

📣 Wera Hobhouse MP 🔶 🇺🇦: "I urge everybody to support the #CANBill. Biodiversity is critical for defence against #climatechange. The CAN Bill requires the Government to reduce our emissions, #restorenaturenow, and take responsibility for the damage caused by our supply chains."

The drought across southern Africa has many impacts. In Zimbabwe, people are having to flee their homes because elephants are coming into villages looking for food and water. You won't see many stories like this reported in international news, sadly. bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-…

While the global media has gone wild about the need to cull animals due to this drought, where is the outcry about the human costs? Conservationists must not ignore the needs of people who live with wildlife.

I simply don't see why Kenya Wildlife Service & Sheldrick Wildlife Trust intervene in natural events in a reserve. SURELY these £££ could be better spent on actual #conservation? Where does it stop - in a pride takeover, do they jump in & save the cubs? What about other species? So many questions! 🙄
