NRC publiceerde 9 juni over Gert Regterschot, die al vele jaren op de campus van de TU/e onbezoldigd lessen verzorgt voor studenten. Daarop is masterstudente Sumya Mobder een doneeractie gestart. Die gaat al richting de zesduizend euro. ow.ly/ayrp50OLx1H

1) Update on the 7th Collective Labour Agreement round All is not well ➡️UNL is very hesitant with permanent contracts ➡️UNL has offered two low pay raises: either 6 or 7% with extra cash of 1200-700. The latter offer being lower. A disgrace for low-income and flex👎

An outrage. Universities are not committed to fair labour agreements. They don't want to reduce flex, and refuse to compensate inflation. At this rate, many employees on universities will become working poor. IF Universiteiten van Nederland does not agree to a fair CLA, 0.7 will escalate. 1/3

I'm a 3rd year fine art student and my final show has been censored by Nottingham College. Not because of nudity, offensive language, hate-speech or anything similar. But because it contained criticism of the College. 1/17

I was slated to moderate this event yesterday but with two hours before the starting time, and after security asked last minute to have everyone present pre-registered (surveillance much), the whole thing was canceled. 👇🏻this is why we need autonomous, democratic universities

Is this true Universiteiten van Nederland?! If so, it's a real punch to the gut for temporary staff and those of us struggling to make ends meet. More people leaving academia is the likely consequence. The strategy now seems to be "they can't strike if they don't work for us anymore..."

We are so fortunate to have students like this, who care and will do something for social justice. This is all DESPITE bureaucrats, managers, executive boards, who want to keep hierarchies and make sure rankings and image stay above people's needs, well-being and social justice.

UvA cuts ties with Big Oil? Most likely not. The "new procedure" is basically what was done before ("only if the project is green"), but now there is a third party committee involved. Guess what? the advice of the committee is non-binding.
