New work by Ryan Alexander in our lab, looking at delta opioid receptor regulation of release in mouse frontal cortex. He finds that DORs regulate SOM inputs to pyramidal cells via two parallel mechanisms. One alters short-term plasticity and the other does not. 🧵

🚨 New preprint from Lerner Lab 🚨 Gabriela Carolina Lopez (Gaby) et al looked at how "rewarding" and "aversive" dopamine signals in the NAc evolve during negative reinforcement learning, with some fascinating results!

Kids returning to school shouldn't have to worry about the threat of gun violence, but yet another community has been tragically affected by a school shooting. AAP mourns with all affected in GA and will continue to advocate for policies to keep kids safe and to #EndGunViolence
