Today our Year 7 students heard about the career of published author and poet, Angela James. They listened and discussed some of her poems before having a go at writing some of their own war poems. Thank you to Mrs Tomkinson for organising this fantastic workshop.

I had so much fun performing a Christmas story at Alderford Lake during December at their Santa's Island Experience event. Over 6 days I performed the story to lots and lots of families. It was even more fun to dress up in costume.

Am really looking forward to school visits this week for National Storytelling Week. Am on the train to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for a school visit in Whitley Bay tomorrow. A 200 mile trek from the other Newcastle (Newcastle-under-Lyme) where I live. Can't wait to see the children.

Year 1 kicked off National Storytelling Week with a workshop with author Angela James. We had a fab time listening to and engaging with fun poetry and stories from Angela’s upcoming book series - ‘Guess the Animal’.

Nursery and Reception really enjoyed the start of #NationalStorytellingWeek , with our visiting author Angela James. They loved listening to her stories about animals and then making up their own riddles.

Today I had great fun delivering my workshops at Coquet Park First School at Whitley Bay, near Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The children were amazing. They engaged really well & wrote some amazing animal riddles, spooky poems/stories, I Don't Want To riddles & engineering riddles. Well done.

Angela Marie James - Author, Poet & Storyteller worked with our year 4,5 and 6 children and really inspired them to write their own poetry about.... anything! The children loved exploring different types of poetry and really developed our school value of creativity.
