HYAKINTHOS, a handsome Spartan prince loved by the gods Apollon & Zephyros. Zephyros, grew jealous and as Apollon and Hyakinthos were playing discus, blew it off course causing it to kill Hyakinthos. Apollon transformed thim into a larkspur/delphinium flower (Gr.hyakinthos).
