The US has approved 5 nuclear reactors this century, 2 of which were later cancelled due to costs. Vogtle 3/4 came online 15 years after govt approval and cost $31 bln. China approved 11 reactors this week that are expected to cost $31 bln collectively and be ready in 5 years.
