PEM courses #parapem21 A Amanda’s sepsis presentation was incredibly insightful. 1) Paramedics/pre-hospital are key in sepsis recognition. 2) “The parents are the sepsis experts” - they know their child, ask the right q’s & listen to & advocate their concerns.

3) “Knowledge is power” - give the parents the appropriate information about sepsis, the signs to look out for and reassurance that they can always call 000 or present to an ED.
