It's been another exciting and productive summer for the #WaterEnergyResearchLab - we attended conferences, hosted high school student interns and an NSF-REU student, did sponsor site visits, and had our annual group retreat. Year 4, here we go!

The #WaterEnergyResearchLab enjoyed hosting members of the Georgia Tech ME advisory board for a lab tour and discussion with students on some of our projects (desalination, thermal energy storage, sustainable insulation).

Attended our first Gordon Research Conferences on phase change -- I presented our work on #thermalenergystorage from 100-1000 Celsius, while my students Erik Barbosa and Walter Parker discussed thermochemical batteries and desalination. We squeezed in a hike between technical sessions for some☀️

Akanksha Menon (Akanksha Menon), assistant professor in the Woodruff School, was recently presented with the Early Career Researcher Award at the 10th Thermal and Fluids Engineering Conference organized by the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE).

The summer flew by, but lots of exciting things happened at #WERL! A major milestone was graduating our first PhD -- Dr. Jordan Kocher! Jordan has received the prestigious Director's postdoctoral fellowship at NREL where he continues to do amazing work on dehumidification.
