This new (open-access!) book by Amelia B. Finaret and William A. Masters looks promising. I can’t think of another text that covers demand side, supply side (including what happens beyond farm gate), and how policy can help improve outcomes. To my pol econ of food and ag syllabus it goes.
I'm honored to be entrusted with this new challenge. I'm the new Pres Elect of the @IAAE. It will be amazing to serve along side Uma Lele, Matin Qaim, Nick Vink, miet maertens, Stephan von Cramon-Taubadel, Joshua Ariga & Madhu Khanna.

Happy to share our paper co-authored with Suman Chakrabarti , on the effects of rise in temperature on the dietary diversity of children in the age group of 6 to 23 months. A data-intensive paper using two rounds of DHS data merged with several geospatial datasets.doi.org/10.1016/j.food…
Thank you Marion Nestle - we hope your readers find the book clear and useful!
Exciting news for global nutrition! The proposed SDG indicator on minimum dietary diversity is gaining traction. Kudos to Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Gallup, and GAIN for the Global Diet Quality Project, providing crucial data to measure this worldwide. devex.com/news/a-new-sdg…
Two years ago, I completed the Indiana University TYRIT series through the CIRTL Network and created a course in Food Economics. Building a comprehensive reading list was challenging. Excited that won’t be an issue anymore. Thank you, William A. Masters and Amelia B. Finaret! cc Katie Kearns
