In 15 years as a travel writer there was one very personal story I always wanted to write. Today is a big day for me because it’s finally been published. A journey into the Icelandic wilderness, in search of grandpa’s hut at the end of the world FT Weekend ft.com/content/af2176…

I've been lucky to travel far and wide in my career. But the first person to leave Britain in my family was my grandpa – not to go to France, but to be posted at maybe the most remote base in WWII, right on the edge of the Arctic. He allegedly found a girlfriend there.

Very few people realise that the vast majority of hospice and palliative care is provided by charity - not by the NHS. I think this is a national scandal. Please RT if you do too 🙏

He desires autocracy and the resultant state media. But this raises additionally large concerns about his psyche. He has to have a happy place where all content he sees treats him like the brilliant Adonis he seems himself as, never to be challenged. Weak and unstable.

This election couldn’t be closer. Every single vote will matter — even a handful of votes could be decisive in a swing state. That’s why we’ve all got to #DoSomething during these final few days of the election.

This summer and autumn I've heard a repeated refrain from people who are trying to not join in the spread of Covid: They've phased out contact with a large number of their old friends and family who refuse to acknowledge the situation.

They thought that things might have improved by now and that they would be able to resume the friendships where they had left off.

But they're realising that it's not going to change yet. And a lot of people are sadly coming to a realisation that it's going to be very hard to forgive the people who have ignored covid.

When people who are refugees from Ukraine, go back to Ukraine for medical tests because it’s quicker, we have a real problem with the NHS and need a national conversation about its future Wes Streeting literally a country at war has better healthcare.

Liam Thorp COVID-19 is all year round so why aren’t we doing anything to mitigate it? Mandatory respirators in healthcare and clean air in schools would help.

"There is no way the wheels of justice will suddenly spin so fast they say Musk has broken the law." Are people scared to condemn Musk's eyebrow-raising $1M-a-day giveaway - or do they simply have no faith left in the justice system? emily m | Jon Sopel

This place is getting increasingly more boring, with any 'interesting' content being drowned out by mindnumbing💩adverts, and people I don't follow, or would ever want to follow👎. So Podcasts it is from now on, and while I'm on the other two places, they aren't much cop🙄.
