On Veterans Day I always think of this Tom T.Hall classic. It's a character study of a young man coming home from Vietnam after losing his legs in the war. It always moves me, and blows me away how much the great Tom T. covers in less than 3 minutes. m.youtube.com/watch?v=t1uP7a…

My best friend and business partner Jack Emerson passed away 21 years today,he was only 43 but we travelled thousands of miles together for over 20 years as music business groovers. We met and hung out with people that we'd have never imagined when we met in a record store in 77.

Happy 75th Birthday to rock icon Billy Gibbons. I've met him several times through the years, this was taken at a bar in Nashville. He and his lovely date ended up hanging with me and my friends most of the night and he insisted on paying for everything at the end.Really nice guy.

I saw the Ramones many times and got them to sign some things. This is my favorite and I intended to get Phil Spector to sign it too. But missed my window. Wish I could see The Ramones one more time.

Watched"Kinds of Kindness"a few days ago and didn't really enjoy it but couldn't look away, and am still thinking about it so it had an impact for sure.Same writer director as last years "Poor Things" which I also didn't like but which had the same effect on me. So I'm confused.😀

Rock&Roll icon Bo Diddley's birthday was yesterday. Photo of me with him in Memphis in the 80's,and pic of him in his front yard where he lived in Archer Fl.He was one of the greats and along with Fats Domino the nicest of the rock and roll founding fathers.I met them all.

I just rewatched one of my favorite Robert Mitchum movies, "The Yakuza" a so called Neo-Noir from 1974. Great people involved, directed by Sydney Pollack, screenplay by Paul Schrader and Robert Towne. In my opinion it was the last time Mitchum really gave it his all on film.

Sam Phillips aka "America's real Uncle Sam" and I must say looking into the same eyes that stared down Jerry Lee Lewis as heard in the famous Great Balls of Fire session tape was a trip.He had lost none of his fiery intensity, and he knew, that we knew, that he'd changed the world.

"Drive"from 2011 must be in my top 3 of the last 15 years. It reminds me of many movies I like and then goes places I didn't see coming. Gosling is an enigmatic Eastwood/Leone type character with minimal dialogue surrounded by a great supporting cast. 5 stars!
