Perpetrators of abuse don’t want survivors of their abuse to heal because that can become a problem for them. Many “systems” are easily abused by abusers and that’s a major problem for survivors trying to heal.

So many people experience abuse in so many different ways. If we all worked better together, we would likely see more progress.

If you’ve been hurt and harmed in the past, then work to heal. Abusing others is not an acceptable outcome to experiencing abuse yourself.

One year I gave 42 presentations on family violence and thought I would never give that many again. This year I’m going to give at least 64 and I can’t wait. Thankful for the opportunity to do the work that I do.

I agreed to 64 family violence presentations in 2024, but left August with zero. That was so I could finish my book, and I’ve done it. Excited to release it soon. 🙂

Finished the back cover text and the introduction today and now my second book is completely written. I think it took about 18 months or more, but finally crossed the finish line.

I’m excited about this one. I utilized my background in public health, and identified key concepts (found in the public health literature) for addressing various health-related issues. I then adapted these concepts into a blueprint to empower survivors working to heal from abuse.

Spent about 16 months writing this one and now just waiting for an email (that could come at any time) saying it is live. Excited to get it out there. Paperback should follow in a couple weeks.

About 8 months into writing, I was having trouble with structure and flow. I knew what I wanted to say, but was trying to sort how best to present it. I woke up one morning and could see it, and quickly wrote these notes on a dry erase board. This board became my second book.

My busiest presentation week yet. I’ll be presenting 4 consecutive full day trainings in multiple communities in Nebraska and Texas. 16 presentations, 24 hours of speaking, 4 days. Let’s get to it. 👍
