I commend districts for their strategic focus on early literacy and use of research. The increased focus by districts will be null and void if campus leaders aren’t supporting the implementation and serving as the lead learner of literacy best practices. tntp.org/blog/post/is-y…

1. Hoping teachers consistently go 'above and beyond' can not be a system-level strategy. 2. Saying “There’s no perfect curriculum,” doesn’t excuse using/adopting one that’s unusable and doesn’t work for most children. 3. Popular talking points don’t obfuscate poor diligence.
