Today was one of those days where you stand in awe of Oklahomans who have impacted the state and nation. Recognizing two luminaries-Clara Luper and Hannah Atkins-w/permanent works at the Capitol. Blessed and honored to be a part of this work. Bravo to amazing Oklahoma Arts Council team!


It was energizing, fun + informative to kick off our staff meeting learning more about Bob Wills to prep for the 2nd Bob Wills Day at the Capitol next Monday! Thanks Oklahoma Swing for sharing the history and music legacy of the King of Western Swing w/Oklahoma Arts Council staff!

For the 17 years that I have worked at the Oklahoma Arts Council, Lou Kerr has been a force for all things art. Her impact in preserving the art treasures at the Capitol and ensuring arts access were unmatched. She will be greatly missed. Prayers and love to her family.

Starting off morning at Greater OKC Chamber event featuring convo b/w Board Chair Teresa Rose and Governor Kevin Stitt talking federal engagement, state policy priorities, and developing this year’s state budget.


Yesterday 500+ artists and arts nonprofit reps came together, expressing our gratitude to state leaders for $10m historic arts ARPA funding! Thanks to our incredible Oklahoma Arts Council team, partners Allied Arts + @artsintulsa, amd advocacy by Oklahomans for the Arts! So grateful!

Congrats to Oklahoma Arts Institute for the winning both the grand award and the arts & humanities category at Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits ONE Awards! Great to also experience the recognition of great work of Greenwood Rising and Oklahoma Opry in the a&h category! Way to go ARTS sector!

Today was a historic day at The People’s House w/unveiling of Northwest quadrant (panel 3 of 4) of “Labor Omnia Vincit” by artist Lucas Simmons! Great work Oklahoma Arts Council staff, led by our VPA team, showcasing the people, work ethic and diverse industries in NW OK!
