Had the most amazing afternoon hearing about the various projects being funded by Midlands Innovation today at Aston University while presenting some of the work we are doing Centre for Migration and Forced Displacement. Thank you to everyone involved. It was inspirational.
Thank you Birmingham Lit Fest for the invitation to chair this amazing panel. Truly humbling to be able to listen And learn from authors telling the stories of everyday life unfolding during violent conflict and war.
We are having the most amazing time here Cheltenham Festivals. Boys just loved hearing @AndyGbooks discuss the latest #treehouse installation! JB has already finished it! St Mary's School #MyChildReads
Amazing conclusion to our Cheltenham Festivals experience. Listening to (and meeting) Lenny Henry give advice on writing. 1. Wear pjs. 2. Eat (lots) of sweets (jammie dodgers). 3. Write. Lots. Followed by advice to reviewers. “Be Kind”. (My personal fav!) The boys had a blast!
The start (and highlight) of my day! Hosting a Writing Cafe with Aston University College of Business and Social Sciences PGR community. Want to join us? dates TBC. It’s out! Gemma Bird 🧡 thank you for being an amazing co-author! Research during Covid was so hard. You are an inspirational support. To the amazing editors/peer review process with Global Studies Quarterly. Thank you. Robust & kind feedback is a standard everyone should/can replicate.
Super proud of Jackson representing #BirminghamBouncers & St Mary's School at his first West Midlands Schools competition. 4th place = Central Zonal Competition qualification in January. Thanxs to the coaches, teachers & volunteers who helped make this happen!
JB is very excited as he preps his entry to the St Mary's School bakeoff tomorrow! There is a lot of flour flying around the kitchen!
One cake. Already to go! Looking forward to hearing all about St Mary's School bakeoff when JB gets home from school.
