Doctors at a major US insurance company deny tens of thousands of claims a month without even looking at patients’ files. “We literally click & submit,” a former Cigna doctor told @ProPublica & The Capitol Forum. “It takes all of 10 seconds to do 50 at a time.” The inside story 🧵

Some advice for newly-minted MS3s: 1) You can learn something amazing everyday if you keep your mind open. Approach every rotation like you're going into it (even if you're differentiated!) 2) Save time for family & friends. Go to the wedding, the birthday. Nuture your soul.

Good morning to the 30+ people who have replied all "Wrong person" or "Same here " to a list-serv email sent about ~20 mins ago Kudos to the student who used the opportunity to send a user research survey

Incredibly moving essay, thank you, Ms. Silverstein. One of my preceptors taught me that transplantation trades one disease for another. This essay is a beautiful insight into patient advocacy, perseverance, and hope — we should never give up on things being better.

Are you really rotating on palliative care if you don't carry your own chair around? We sit down with patients ♡ Deeply grateful to bear witness to patients' serious illnesses, provide care prioritizing comfort, goals, & values — & allow bodies to show us what's needed to heal.

We don't talk enough about mentors outside of our chosen specialty. So deeply grateful for those within and outside of my field of choice, who exemplify that medicine is a team sport and broaden my vision

The more I learn about my Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth classmates, the more I’m amazed by them. I feel lucky to be in med school with them. I am so excited for them to be physicians and to root for them as they find their best-fit programs this #Match2024 season. 🧑🏽‍⚕️
