Nearly the end of week 2 of placement and I love it! I’ve been given the opportunity to remove stitches, practice ANTT and make up IVs. Having a supportive supervisor makes all the difference and I’m so grateful for her #studentnurse

Healthcare assistants are absolute angels sent to earth, can’t believe their pay for what they do (realise I’m late to the party but it’s really hit home on this placement)

Called my next placement and they: 1. called back when they said they would 2.gave me my shifts 3. knew who I was …what is this sorcery?

Despite the heat, today was lovely for a first cannula & venepuncture, got both first time 🥳👌🏼

Almost pulled the emergency buzzer today because the patient was vomiting what looked like massive blood clots…turns out she’d just been eating plums…oops

What an exceptionally beautiful thing this was. Thinking of the entire family at Balmoral 😔

This week was hard. Spent the day with the wonderful Macmillan team but forgot it would have been my beautiful auntie’s 60th birthday on the same day. She died of bowel cancer at 56 and is the reason I decided to re-train as a nurse so here she is
