J.G.C.C was established in the colonial era. The centre protects and cares for girls on remand from the juvenile courts.

Inmates at J.G.C.C are exposed to wide range of skills out of which they can choose a trade to earn a living when they leave the facility.

Ten new boys have been enrolled in the re-integration program in the first quarter of this year.

A total of fifteen juveniles are slated to be discharged from the senior correctional centre alone this quarter.

The Junior Boys' Correctional Centre at Agona Swedru in the Central Region of Ghana caters for younger juveniles between age 13 to 16.

Some of the boys are preparing adequately for school after spending over a month's vacation at home.
