April is Autism Acceptance Month! Many children with autism face ENT issues like ear infections, sleep apnea, speech delay & sound sensitivity. Early ENT care can improve communication, sleep & behavior making it a vital part of comprehensive autism care #autismacceptance#pedsent

My favorite game to play in Montreal has been to see how many people I can get to talk to me in French after I say “bonjour”. I’m at 7. I think I have perfected my French greeting

Day 3/52 of fun-employment: meeting with moving companies, packing, reviewing manuscripts....but definitely some time to relax and catch my breath! Time to focus on enjoying life for the next few weeks

One thing I’ve learned after operating at 4 hospitals in 5 years is that asking for instruments can be like speaking another language. Giraffe? Never heard of her. Suction bipolar? Doesn’t exist. Pardon me while I enroll in another Duolingo course on surgical instruments

Life hack for academic medicine: If you get a half day for academic time, schedule it in the morning. Afternoons always get swallowed by clinical spillover, and you’re way less productive. Mornings = protected time + fresh brain = actual academic work gets done #MedTwitter

Today’s scrub cap courtesy of Dr. Thompson Dana Thompson, MD, MS, MBA, FACS. Most days I think WWDTD (what would Dana Thompson do) but today we’re manifesting WWAD (what would Alyssa do).

In fellowship I transitioned from drinking coffee to drinking tea. Honestly it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Caffeine withdrawal headaches on vacation...gone. Jitters in the OR...gone. I'm never going back to the dark side. #MedTwitter #mildlycaffeinated
