Dept. of Energy on the third straight day of yellow and red alert in the Luzon and Visayas grid: We reiterate our call for everyone’s cooperation in minimizing power consumption specially at peak hours during the remainder of the hot season.
NGCP: Red Alert status raised in the Visayas grid from 5PM-9PM due to reduced shared power from Mindanao to Visayas after 2 power plants in Mindanao tripped. Rotational power interruptions may be implemented to protect the integrity of the power system.
MERALCO on today's yellow alert from 1-11PM: We already advised Interruptible Load Program participants to be on standby in case there will be Red Alert. We again call on the public to continue practicing energy conservation & efficiency measures to help manage overall demand.
NGCP: As of 7am, April 17, may YELLOW ALERT projection pa rin ngayong araw sa Luzon grid at Visayas grid simula 2pm hanggang 11pm. Ang ibig sabihin ng YELLOW ALERT ay manipis ang reserbang kuryente. Pero pwede pang magbago ang advisory within the day.
As NGCP extended the Red Alert status on the Luzon Grid from 4PM to 9PM, Meralco implemented emergency manual load dropping (MLD) affecting around 50,000 customers in portions of Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna from 4:15 PM-5:58PM today.
