We love dismissing academics bcz they work in silence yet they raise very weighty matters that if considered, wud enrich the world. Eg they raised issues of professional bodies becoming overbearing on curriculum. Now we have professional who rarely see their impact holistically.

There are two categories of GenZs. Those with choices (minority) those with minimal or no choices (majority). Conversations always centre the former. What of those graduates taking the "kazi majuu,” underemployed, in jua kali -anything to earn a meal? Do they have the luxury?

Towards Thriving Graduates Programme (@alumniconnectke) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If an employee (GenZ or not) accepts a job knowing very well the terms & conditions but somewhat wants preferential treatment once s/he has signed contract, it qualifies as lack of work ethics. That is, if the terms are fair as per labour laws & there were no unique developments

Universities should leverage technology to overcome this longstanding problem of missing marks. A wasted year is a very huge loss especially if it was not the fault of student. Kenyatta University #ExperienceKU your brand is too many big for these errors in this day and age

Human beings were designed to have reverence for something, live for something higher than self. We have witnessed that evil has increased in direct proportion to the erosion of shared reverence. eg breakdown of African humanity values, decreasing reverence for supernatural being

Laws are good but are an insufficient deterrence. There needs to be an intervention that goes deeper to earth the root causes & craft a shared pathway towards recovery. It is not normal to have pple taking other human lives as they wud to an animal; employees defrauding employers

Next week, we start the last month of the first half of the year 2025. Carefully review how you are doing against your intentions. Be objective and sober so that you understand what is working and continue it; have the courage to change the strategies that are not working. 🥂

Jac Employers have a right to get rid of thieves. There are many value driven Kenyans without jobs & who deserve opportunities. They wud work for a win-win outcome for themselves & their employers. Equity shud actually prosecute the fraudsters. #valuesmattet x.com/Alumniconnectk…

Some Kenyans vouching for fraudsters fired by Equity Bank Kenya, really?? Fraudulent employees block job creation even by micro & small businesses. There are pple investing money in money markets. They preferred job creating investments but were deterred by frauds!! #valuesmatter

💯. Those who wanted to belittle higher educ found a loophole to use in unemployment. It is as if tertiary creates jobs. Impact from education requires education + self development + enabling environment. It is a three-legged stool which stands only when all three legs are intact

Where does value of education come in? Tertiary education does not create jobs. Getting impact from education requires formal education + self development + enabling environment. It is a three-legged stool which stands only when all three legs are intact.

If you want to truly & objectively test value of education in unemployment situation, take an educated & not educated; track them both in their journey to find decent jobs. The one with educ has higher prospects of decent jobs. Let’s stop misleading youth about value of educ 🙏

Life is full of choices. Wisdom helps us to make the best decisions; to know what to do & how to do it without hurting others; when to speak or stay silent; when to stand firm & when to be gentle. Apply wisdom in big & small decisions then let wisdom guide your steps & actions.

Over to you African leaders. Are you ready for sound negotiations that place Africa’s interests at the heart of discussions; to prioritize deals that create jobs for the many unemployed youth thru inter alia value chain devts, value addition; to not relegate Africa to consumers?
