Made some progress with the 1/48 MI-24. Canopy mostly installed, just need to add the door. Pilots instruments and HUD installed, and a few external PE parts added. Getting closer to be able to put paint on this thing.

Just need to sand and fill a few spots, then primer.

And the first bit of paint is added. Once these have dried, I’m going to mask the underside fully, then attach them to the aircraft to paint the camo.

Main colours done, few little bits of things to tidy up but the majority of it is done.

Rear white stripes added, tidied up some small overspray areas in a couple of places, and levelled up the blue band at the front as it was wonky as fuck.

Roundel masks cut and applied.

That’s pretty much all the main painting done, Just got the cannon, rockets and landing gear as far as the main fuselage goes, then the rotors. I won’t be doing much in the weathering, just some exhaust stains. This particular aircraft has a fairly factory fresh paint job.

Test fitted the fans that keep the pilot cool.

Rotor blades main and rear done, rockets and mounts done, guns and cover done, exhaust and air intake partially painted, need to do the eyes next. About 3 hours work, all in for these 12 parts. Getting there.

Everything except wheels, exhaust and the rockets painted and installed. Ready for clear coat. The greens look a lot different in bright light. Looking forward to getting this one finished.
