🕊️ Blogger Yasmine al-Ghufaili has been released after four years of arbitrary imprisonment. She was arrested in May/June 2021 during a crackdown by #SaudiArabia's authorities against a number of bloggers who had been peacefully expressing their opinions online.

🕊️ Loujain al-Bouq, owner of the L.M.M.H.A. account, was released on 3 April after almost six years of arbitrary imprisonment. During her detention, she subjected to multiple violations, including enforced disappearance and being denied contact with her family.

📅 Fitness instructor Manahel al-Otaibi, sentenced by #Saudi authorities to 11 years in prison for peaceful activism, is due to appear in court for an appeal hearing on Monday 26 May at the SCC. ALQST encourages diplomats to request access to the trial.

On 25 May, #SaudiArabia's authorities executed Egyptian national Farhat Abu al-Saud, in flagrant disregard for the right to life. He was executed for drug-related crimes, in clear violation of international human rights law, and following a deeply unfair trial.

Today is the 3⃣1⃣st birthday of Manahel al-Otaibi, and the 4⃣2⃣nd birthday of Abdulrahman al-Sadhan. Both are spending their birthdays behind bars simply for exercising their right to freedom of expression. Authorities in Saudi Arabia must #FreeManahel and #FreeSadhan.
