Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the US. It is not the day that enslaved people were freed or the day slavery ended, but the day the Union marched into Galveston, TX and announced the Civil War had ended and enslaved Texans found out they had been free for two years.

Every year, nearly 9,000 new members find a home in Alpha Phi. Like you, they were looking for a place where they could confide in others, share new experiences, conquer difficult challenges and achieve things they never thought possible.
