فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

﴿ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ ﴾ and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

﴿ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴾ And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers.

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ We have certainly created man into hardship.

أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ * وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ Have We not made for him two eyes? And a tongue and two lips?

﴿ أَوَلَم يَكفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلى كُلِّ شَيءٍ شَهيدٌ ﴾ But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?

وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ And have shown him the two ways?

ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion.

﴿ وَتَقولونَ بِأَفواهِكُم ما لَيسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلمٌ وَتَحسَبونَهُ هَيِّنًا وَهُوَ عِندَ اللَّهِ عَظيمٌ ﴾ and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, tremendous.

وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا * وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا By the sun and its brightness * And [by] the moon when it follows it

﴿ وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ ﴾ And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].

﴿ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ ﴾ My Lord, forgive me and my parents
