Carleton alumna Allison Binley is advancing #conservation research! 🌳🐦 As a Rose Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell Lab, she’s designing and implementing dynamic programs to ensure action is perfectly timed to balance the needs of people with the protection of biodiversity.
Field research for my PDF with Spectral remote sensing lab and @AnneKSalomon is in full swing! The last 6 wks have been a whirlwind of beautiful travel along the BC coast as we work with First Nations and other researchers to evaluate drivers of kelp-encrusting bryozoans. My heart is so full.
Ability to detect species in a survey is a huge issue in conservation. And it's often ignored. There are some reasonably easy ways to account for it: esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… Rachel Buxton (she/her) Emma J. Hudgins Allison Binley Jordanna N. Bergman Dalal Hanna, PhD
Collecting #biodiversity data is a cornerstone of #conservation research, but how do we know when we have enough to act? Check out our new paper in Methods in Ecology and Evolution
