Feels like we’ve been in hibernation all winter but with Summer just around the corner it was time to dust off the cobwebs & get some much needed game practice. A big thanks to Stanwix FC Girls & Ladies Hornets for having us & we wish you best of luck for the upcoming season 🙂⚽️ 🟠⚫️
A great game to kick off our season against Whitehaven AFC yellows in the The Andrea Buggy Women's League. We made a really strong start without finding the net & then had to come from 2 goals down to earn a well deserved draw.
Tuesday night football for a change as we went to the top of the The Andrea Buggy Women's League for at least one night after a victory against a young Whitehaven AFC team. So it was fitting that one of our up & coming players “Kobie”was awarded our GOG after a fine performance on her debut
The new kit has arrived & we’re now wearing the same badge Workington Town Workington Town Women FC
It was a 2-1 defeat for us last night against Stanwix FC Girls & Ladies in the The Andrea Buggy Women's League. It was a really enjoyable game played in the right spirit #summerfootball
Another Wednesday night in the The Andrea Buggy Women's League for us. This week we hosted the leaders Newlaithes Fc in what was a fantastic game of football & a great advertisement for the women’s game in Cumbria.
It was another enjoyable game of football last night when we took on Vickerstown Ladies where we needed 2 late headed goals from corners to take the points. The Andrea Buggy Women's League
We enjoyed a successful visit to Carlisle last night in the The Andrea Buggy Women's League to take on United’s Development team. It was a closer game than the score line would suggest but the Cats were on the hunt for goals, while our defence was desperate for a clean sheet. 8-0 to us.
Just a couple more posts to wrap this season up. We narrowly lost out in the The Andrea Buggy Women's League Trophy Final, going down 2-1 to Whitehaven AFC Ladies. It was a fantastic game & another great advert for #WestCumbria female football
Also want to thank everyone involved with organising this season’s competition Cumberland FA ⚽️ The Andrea Buggy Women's League also Workington Town Workington Town Women FC for your support
Our final goal of the season was an absolute screamer scored by Keeley, from inside her own half which Wayne Rooney Beckham Cristiano Ronaldo Messi or Dr Carol Thomas B.E.M., D.Univ - Lioness # 22 would be proud of #PuskasAward contender
