In a peer-reviewed research collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Purdue University, Pivot Bio's microbes showed how gene-editing enhances the microbes' ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen and transfer it to cereal crops. On a recent episode of N-Sights from

Despite drier conditions and above average temperatures at times, crops flourished in the Northern Plains in 2024. Hear about what factors led to some farmers in the area experiencing record yields across multiple crop types. pivotbio.com/blog/proven-40…

Subsoil conditions are dry so how are these conditions going to impact nitrogen availability as we prepare for planting? A lot can change so will it be more like 2023 or 2024? IDK. Do you have #4R practices in place to meet crop demands? #Plant25

The seed is the primary nutrient source till about V4. Plants focus on building a good root system for when the seed’s energy is used up. Pivot Bio microbes will be ready to assist in the transition when the seed is done and the roots take over. #4R #plant25

Yield is the culmination of farm activities. A plant can’t access fertility if seeds aren’t given a good environment to thrive in yet of course there will be days things just have to get done. A daily dose of N from Pivot Bio microbes will sure help them overcome challenges.

Many things can impact N availability throughout the season. Rains cause N loss and residue can cause N tie up. Pivot Bio micros are there on each plant to supplement the crop needs during these early stages of crop growth when ear rows are being determined. #4R

Pivot Bio agronomist Allen Parrish (Allen Parrish) made a recent appearance on the Land Ledger podcast (Farmland Stock Exchange) where he discussed what attracted him to start working at Pivot Bio, and how farmers can best incorporate our products into a nitrogen plan. Hear more about how

V5-V8 is great time to scout and lack of uniformity will be exposed as plants compete. Pivot Bio microbes give each plant their own N source to overcome stress factors and help plants thrive during this stage so they will be ready for the rapid growth to VT. #4R

Each application made in a field will have highs and lows and impact crop growth. Pivot microbes provide each plant with its own N source during the vegetative phases to compensate for uneven apps, increase field uniformity, and give a grower a new MOA in his N program. #4R

Spring has been cooler resulting in slower growth and mineralization output. S deficiencies resulting from poor mineralization or lack of S in the fertility program are noticeable. Pivot microbes will keep corn growing w/ N regardless the weather but it could use some heat.

The more I work with Pivot’s gene edited microbes the easier it gets to understand synthetic N sources. Pivot can truly unlock the complexity and erratic nature of the N cycle induced from environmental factors. Once you figure that out, new yield goals are possible. #4R

These humid days give plants a daily dose of water each morning. Corn across IL has been looking really good and would anticipate high yields. Are your N sources being depleted or do you have Pivot Bio adding a daily dose of N to support plant vegetative growth? #4R

~50% of corn’s N demand occurs post tassel with soil mineralization being the main source of N for grain fill. Pivot microbes build field uniformity for even competition of nutrients while the UTC’s biggest plants rob their neighbors. Will that impact yield? Time will tell.

In Champaign County, IL, this grower allowed Pivot Bio agronomist Allen Parrish to do three different Total Nitrogen Applied levels throughout the whole field. He then split the planter with Pivot Bio's PROVEN 40-treated corn and untreated check corn. The results are visual and

The last rounds of pollinations will be occurring and they should make good use fertility freed up with rain. Pivot Bio ears are looking more consistent which point to more plants maturing at the same pace and crop finishers will guard and push yield during grain fill.

Pop x k/ear x weight/k=yield. The last 4 years I’ve seen Pivot Bio microbes influence kernels/ear to optimize at least 1 key factor yet yield is the culmination of all the factors playing out in the year. So what factors are you looking to improve or adding (PB G3?) next year?

Crops are looking good in Central IL. There has been some moderate tip back but overall kernel totals per ear are high. Proven40 gives each plant an individual N source to improve plant and ear consistency for more yield potential. A lot of scouting and season left to go!

I’m pretty optimistic for this year’s crop. Corn might be denting but there is still a ways to go. Pivot microbes helps max yield potential by adding kernels/ear but a rain could really boost kernel weights. The new G3 helps with plant N remobilization for a late punch too.
