Remember that this include for large bodied/fat children whether they have an ED or not! Courses to “treat ob*sity” in children that are sold by ED organisations are unethical and shouldn’t exist. We must educate all these on the risk for any child of any size @mollyjforbes

For anyone calling fat people “abusers” and “ bullies” and for anyone aligning themselves with those people publicly or privately. Read this.

Books written by “o*sity experts”, fatness as a response to trauma, discussions about weight lost in group work… I was so entrenched in diet culture and full of internalised fatphobia it didn’t even register. Weight stigma is pervasive in the NHS. ED services are not immune.

Everyone gets body shamed but image being called “fat” and also living in a society that prioritizes thin people having access to basic things like a Chair or a therapist that isn’t fatphobic

Please note: #dieticians, #nutritionists and #eatingdisorder treatment folks. You can unlearn weight stigma and fatphobia to better serve your clients with weight neutral, anti-diet culture treatment.

Anyone who believes there are sides here do not understand that we are advocating for literally the bare minimum in care for fat people. These people are willingly upholding the systems that marginalise and oppress people, this isn’t personal. “Doing our best” it not good enough.

You think we’re bullies? You can’t bully the system. I’d rather hurt someone’s feelings than teach professionals how to harm their patients.

Can you be inclusive if you are harming a marginalised group of people (and not listening to them)? Nope! Supporting LGBTQAI+? But only the straight sized ones? Supporting people who are neurodivergent? But only the straight sized ones? See the pattern?
