I’m sorry, what now?! You do realise that these “hand-wringing” Europeans have spent the last 70 years turning up to fight America’s wars, right? Let me take you on a little trip down memory lane - one littered with the wreckage of “American diplomacy” - since your grasp of

#OTD 13 March 1873, the Scottish Football Association was founded at Dewar's Temperance Hotel in Glasgow. But who was Dewar, where exactly was this hotel and why was it chosen? Why is the SFA's own plaque in the wrong place? Find the answers in my blog: scottishsporthistory.com/sports-history…

#FRAvSCO Outplayed by a great team at the end, but some shocking decisions by referee in game. However, inability to score in opposition 22 and another 4th place finish means it's time for Townsend to move on

Hard to believe this, but on Friday the Scottish FA will be supporting Football's Square Mile Day. That's the same Football's Square Mile who are so inept that their plaque to mark the founding of the SFA is in the wrong place: footballssquaremile.com/sfabirthplace

Scottish FA The FSM people got the building wrong, and the address wrong. The correct version is on my blog: scottishsporthistory.com/sports-history… And there's more... /

Scottish FA The Football's Square Mile website is riddled with mistakes and false claims. Site 1 is linked to Alexander Watson Hutton's birthplace, saying he was born there in 1852. It was 1853. They are supposed to be 'historians' but even basic dates are wrong. /

Scottish FA There are claims throughout the FSM site which don't stand up to scrutiny, which are demonstrably false, which make exaggerated claims, yet the Scottish FA continue to support these charlatans.
