So, today is the Annual Falmouth Road Race, starting in Woods Hole (hence all the portaloos I posted last night!). The dedication of the #OMIBS2023 Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) vendors, lecturers and staff team to get here has been truly touching and awe-inspiring!

First, Cristina Rodriguez Cristina Rodríguez from Yale gave a spectacular lecture on multiphoton microscopy despite the cheering of the crowds and music directly outside the lecture theater!

The Prospective Instruments guys made it in to #OMIBS2023 Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) today by walking the whole way from Falmouth, since the roads were all closed... and the Zeiss team biked all the way and still barely made it across the bridge. You guys ROCK!!!

Sergey and Scott from Thorlabs demo-ing their multiphoton system fitted with a Coherent Laser to image heart at #OMIBS2023 Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL). It's incredible how fast they can now image big FOVs - I confess I am blown away by the developments in recent MP systems!

Next up at #OMIBS2023 Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) ... Binyam Mogessie from Yale taught us about the difficulty of keeping oocytes alive during imaging, in particular given their large size. Imagine imaging an ostrich egg!

And now we finish the #OMIBS2023 course Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) with the Horizons Lecture where the fabulous Emma Lundberg is teaching us about the Human Protein Atlas. 20 million images? Now that's a challenge for data management!!

She said in her #OMIBS2023 Tech Bite Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) that "Germans have no sense of humour". She lied! Meet Stefanie Kiderlen of Prospective Instruments, who had all the participants roaring with laughter and won 1st prize in the fiercely competitive Tech bites hands-down!!😆

Such a proud moment for me at #LABIxBINA2023 - Michael Almeida, Ph.D., who attended #OMIBS2021 Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL), speaking about how he set up his own microscopy course at UNC Pembroke less than a year later. Such an inspiration for us all! Go Michael!!!
