How will you regulate people who have their scope of practice decided at a local level? What standards will you be using? How will you ensure PA training is consistent/quality controlled when there are no consistent entry criteria, standards or post grad training schemes?

It's a massive scandal. Everyone on PA courses either got a merit or distinction. Noone fails. The GMC knows this. And they are silent. Patients are at huge risk from lesser trained individuals pretending to be doctors. Ask for a doctor.

I have the misfortune to see a PA today for my hospital appointment. The clinic nurse introduced them as a doctor, he never said he is not a doctor. I am naturally unimpressed, but feel trapped in the situation. I will be writing to PALS and the consultant team.
