Unsure how we finished our first year of teaching for the doctorate last week! Feel like I’m going to blink and be at the end of the course although also aware of the mountain of workload in the way of that blink 😂

The UK has been ‘tough on drugs’ for over 50 years, yet we have the highest drug-related death rates nationally since records began, & the highest drug-death rates in Europe. release.org.uk/blog/release%E…

Really good to see that HMP & YOI Parc has received the National Autistic Society's Advanced Accredited Award. Other prisons should be looking to see what they can learn from what NAS describes as a "beacon of best practice for other prisons". g4s.com/news-and-insig…

I’m a few weeks into my CAMHS placement in a service for medically unexplained symptoms - just finished this book which I really recommend, clearly illustrates mind/body link & interesting discussions re societal views/responses to medically explained vs unexplained distress

Glad to see more attention being paid to this issue - looking forward to analysing the data for my research project on spice use in prison to add evidence based action recommendations in response to this

Had such great day being part of our DClinPsy third year research conference yesterday - wonderful to celebrate everyone’s hard work over the past 3 years as well as the opportunity to share important results of an under researched area.

Very pleased to see our study on Spice use in prison published in International Journal of Drug Policy this week - people who use Spice in prison have higher psychological distress than those who don’t and rate improved regimes/purposeful activity offerings as the most helpful to reduce this
