Just completed the consultation on how much a school should pay a prospective teacher on a Degree Apprenticeship. Since they will need to be in employment for 4 years to gain QTS it has to be more that the Apprenticeship minimum wage - teaching HAS to be an attractive option.

Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs. They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.

I have been reflecting on my past tendancy to be a Rescuer. Stepping in to take away the burden of others can feel positive but it negates their opportunity to learn. A coaching approach means not rushing to action, giving them more time to find creative solutions and own them!

School leaders are humble & don't like to claim "high-performance" even when they are exemplarly! Supporting a wonderful Deputy to go through the "Apprenticeship Gateway" for their Masters with UofB and despite being amazing he didnt like evidencing the KSBs below. #humble

Interesting that 54% felt unwilling to do what was suggested. Something interesting to unpick here about the conditions needed for people to be able make changes. Ideally they identify the change in a coaching context so that they CAN enact it and trusted and supported to try.
