In 2016 I set a goal to paddle 100 of Algonquin Park's lakes in 100 days. I did it. Now for the rest. #allofalgonquin

Let’s do a top five. Here are the five best campsites I stayed on in this year. Why? Why not!

Starting at #5 we’ve got an island site in the south end of Érables Lake. I stayed there back in May. It was cold and exposed, but it had great views & tons of space.

Coming in at #4 is the southern point site on Bonnechere Lake. This site sits on top of a gorgeous rock wall with great views across the water and a nice fire pit set up.

#3 is at the mouth of the bay up to Rod & Gun Lake on Lake Louisa. Like the Bonnechere site, this one is set on a beautiful stretch of exposed rock. Unlike the Bonnechere site the swimming here doesn’t mean dodging swarms of leeches. No leeches > leeches. Louisa > Bonnechere.

#2 is the only site on Clamshell Lake. It’s also sitting on a nice chunk of Canadian Shield (I’m sensing a theme). What does it have that Bonnechere and Louisa don’t? Let’s see …
