The death penalty does not bring back the 11 slain individuals. Inevitable, expensive death sentence appeals ensure painful, continuing reminders to families. The federal death penalty should be repealed, putting US in line with more civilized nations. apnews.com/article/pittsb…

Christian crazies, in the form of Ala. Chief Justice Tom Parker, have shown their true colors and finally gone too far, even for diehard Republican antiabortion pols. It's waking up our nation to the dangers of a Christian theocracy & necessity to vote for secular principles.

What an insult that NotGOVJeffLandry signed an outrageous bill to force the Ten Commandments on all students in every classroom on the same day as Juneteenth. The 10th commandment talks about wives and "servants" as property. There is no "Juneteenth" in the bible.

Trump-Kennedy's anti-science, anti-vax agenda makes the Texas measles outbreak so much scarier. This columnist notes that individuals who get and survive measles lose much of their immunity memory, making them at risk the rest of their lives. nytimes.com/2025/02/28/opi…

Trump says he's accomplished more in 40-some years than presidents have in 4 years -- true, if what is what is accomplished is CHAOS.

In case you missed it, in my newsletter from Friday, I did a deep dive into "The Ten Commandments" and explained why 9 of them make for stupid, terrible laws that are inappropriate for school children. Somebody has to tell the truth about this stuff. thenation.com/article/politi…

Thanks, RFK Jr., for making measles outbreaks the new norm. Between the climate change denial + "Drill baby drill" and the ongoing destruction of rational US vaccination policy, many lives are going to be lost due to this anti-science campaign. nytimes.com/2025/07/09/wel…

Now Ryan Walters is accusing Republican Governor Kevin Stitt, who endorsed him, of setting him up on the porn scandal by instructing board members to make it all up. Nice job, Oklahoma. 50th in education on top of it.
