Keir Starmer mentioned the Kirklees Council Abbey Rd retrofit project in his speech today. It insulated 8 houses with no plans to mainstream the work. I am pleased for the 8 tenants concerned but it did look like a very expensive PR event for Keir's benefit. 🙄

Labour utterly hopeless & lost on housing policy. Backing the right to buy council housing when we have a shortage & giving huge subsidies at public expense. Social housing is a social good. We need more of it not less. And dropping rent controls for private tenants 🙄
