Mayor Bass, who speaks after county, police, and fire officials, emphasizes unity. This morning the city and county are holding a joint press conference. Yesterday they inexplicably didn’t. Hopefully this is a sign that any communication breakdown has been dealt with.

Bass: “I spoke directly with the incoming administration yesterday. It was a fine call.” Says she’s not concerned about “animosity” toward California.

Today is a much better day at the Palisades Fire. "Talk about progress, it has been made," says Emily Valdez, KNX News Reporter with a view above Mandeville Canyon. -Hand crews are out on the lines -Few hot spots, most inside the burn area -Canyon coated in pink from Phos-Chek drops

Taken about 24 hours apart. Looking towards the #PalisadesFire with no smoke showing as compared to yesterday. Still a lot of work remains as crews continue to increase containment before the stronger winds return tomorrow and Tuesday. KNX News 97.1 FM

This week’s forecast is again a “particularly dangerous situation” - NWS Los Angeles most serious warning. But “not as severe” as last week and that fortunately does not include most of the Palisades/Eaton fire areas.

The first shot is from earlier today and the other from Wednesday morning. I took both at 400ft up looking towards downtown LA. Our firefighters have been amazing and the weather has shown us a little reprieve today. Still plenty of work to be done. #EatonFire KNX News 97.1 FM

The lawsuit filed against SoCal Edison alleges "sparks from high-voltage transmission lines...and other equipment ignited vegetation," sparking the Eaton Fire. It does not provide evidence of this other than Edison's acknowledgment equipment is w/in general area of ignition.

With winds blowing at 60-80+ mph and bone-dry humidity, no amount of water or firefighting could have prevented the tragedies of the Eaton and Palisades fires. A thread... đŸ§”

On The L.A. Local today I talked with Emily Valdez, KNX News Reporter about communicating from the fire zone with Starlink (as of now, in many places, it’s the only way), the painstaking search for the dead, and the effort to get homeowners some desperately needed info. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the
