"Swimmers warned not to enter the water at Exmouth due to pollution for fifth time." Did you know that the Environment Agency stops testing bathing quality at the end of September? At which point you're on your own until next May. You'll never even know. 🤮 itv.com/news/westcount…

In autumn when the morning mists are rising on some meadows & glades of Białowieża Forest you are able to find herds of European Bisons feeding, before they head to the woodlands for the daytime.

it is quite astonishing when you think about it. For the next three months all of the money from your water bill will be spent on nothing but debt interest payments and dividends. Not fixing the sewage system, not securing London's water supply, not providing a better service

I’m shocked, shocked to hear that the ‘net zero aspiration’ for farming trumpeted by the National Farmers Union in 2019 is now ‘in doubt’ The NFU’s plan refused to consider significant land use change or dietary shift & favoured bioenergy crops instead 1/ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Zwettl in the north of Austria. Many places in Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, etc. are currently drowning due to an extreme weather event - which is the result of extreme heating of the Mediterranean - which is a consequence of the climate crisis.

Incredible 4 day rainfall totals in Austria. Previous records more than doubled, and in one case tripled. This is not normal but it’s exactly what we expect in a rapidly heating atmosphere. There’s worse to come.

1. You might not have heard of it, but the system supposed to protect us in England and Wales from #floods is an absolute disgrace: a network of old boys' clubs completely unaccountable to the public. No wonder it fails so badly. My column + thread. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

What is a wildcat's role in a Devon landscape? Interactions between species are complex, and predator-prey relationships have often developed over millions of years. When one predator is removed, it can have a knock on impact through food chains. 📷stock.adobe.com [1/2]
