I think homeschooling is about to pop off. Homeschooled kids will learn everything with AI + they typically have much higher agency + online communities mitigate the problem of developing good social skills.

In academia your daily TODOs are about trying to find, over possible actions argmax (d_impact/d_action), and in industry it switches to argmax (d_profits/d_action) the loss function changes even if the action space doesn't. Seems like the source of lots of disorientation
