The Fassbinder or Ingmar Bergman model: a regular group of actors to write and direct for across theatre, film and tv. That’s the ideal I think. Probably only possible in their time / moment / social conditions but what a way to create a body of work.

There was an ice cream van on Crosby Beach today playing some funky house tunes. He had ‘The Soul Man of Crosby Beach’ written on the van. I bought a bottle of water. It was a vibe.

First day as Assistant Director on The 39 Steps! So excited to be working on this fantastic production!

Interesting Steve Coogan is playing Major Kong along with the three Peter Sellers roles. This was also Kubrick’s original plan but Sellers didn’t want to do it, hence the now iconic Slim Pickens. It’ll be fun to see what Steve Coogan does with it on top of his other three roles!
