Oh, Tara! While Tara VanDerveer says she retired in her mind 20 or so times, she didn't know this day would come. 'I never really thought I would be (ready). I thought maybe I would keel over on the bench because I love it, I love it, I love it.'

Tara VanDerveer said “the time has felt right” to step away now. That if anything, the move to the ACC was a motivator to stay and compete in such a great league.

She mentions wanting to do other things with her life — “this isn’t a dress rehearsal. This is your real life.”
